So this thanksgiving we decided to stay home and not cook a thing.  I’ve been sitting here for a majority of the day….bored out of my mind.  Feels weird not to cook or at least contribute to someone’s table.  I’ve decided instead to make this day more productive by making a list of seeds for next year and researching some of the pests and weeds that plagued me last year.  I also am going to try to draw up some designs for the garden next year.  I have been praying that God will smite the squash beetles that destroyed my hopes and dreams this last year.

I have also started to create a wish list of things I want, like a cold frame and hoops.  Excited to try some more things this year.  I am very thankful that we are able to grow our own food and very thankful that veggies grow in our backyard.

A very helpful book:  The Kitchen Garden by Alan Buckingham.  It has month by month chores for the garden.
